Untangling
Relationships
A Christian Perspective on Codependency
This class helps you identify the
painful effect of codependency. It is not for the dependent person
addicted to drugs and alcohol. It is for those who are caught up in
constantly pleasing people, fixing people's problems who have
compulsions to control others and situations. Codependents are rejected
by the same people they are trying to please. They choose to accomplish
for others so they will receive worth, acceptance and love, but in
return get crumbs.
- If you have these tendencies you
will be a good candidate for class:
- Try to control everything and
everyone.
- Achieve to receive worth and
approval from others.
- Are filled with guilt about telling
others "no."
- Have to be perfect, always right
never wrong and always happy about life.
- Are hurting and lonely on the inside
but appear joyful outwardly.
- Are insecure and don't know who you
are in Christ.
- Don't have a sense of belonging in
any relationships.
- Find it difficult to relate and
communicate. You are constantly searching for your family's love but
never receiving it.
Come join us in a 9 week interactive
group setting prepared to disable your enablements of codependency. God
is waiting for you. He has your worth and acceptance in His hands, so
willing to give it to you.

In My Father's House
Women Relating to God as Father
This class is a six week interactive
study in a small group setting. Women need to get to know Goad as Father
and relate to Him as a blessed daughter. Students are challenged to base
their relationship with God on the truths of who He is rather than
falsehoods about Him. God wants you to get to know him on an intimate
level. Come and enjoy a day class with other women, like yourself, who
don't know God as their relational Father.

The Virtuous Woman
Shattering the Superwoman Myth
She rose at daybreak, grew the food,
made the clothes, kept the house, and ran a business. Her husband
praised her and her children adored her. Was she the original
superwoman?
"In my years of teaching and
speaking. I must admit that I have purposely avoided teaching on the
Proverbs 31 woman. I mean, is this woman for real? She makes Martha
Stewart look like a sluggard! If she really does exist, I'm not sure I
would want to run in her circle. The two of us would not have much in
common, " says Reverend Joyce Shelton.
For years, Christian women have
struggled to understand what this woman is all about. Reading this
passage can evoke more guilt than eating a one-pound bag of M&M's.
Is she considered the "ideal woman" and, if so, should we seek
to emulate her many qualities? Is there hope for those of us who don't
make biscuits from scratch or sew our own clothes?
The Virtuous Woman combines individual
and group work in a women's Bible study experience. Topics consist of:
- The Ideal Woman
- A Woman Who Fears the Lord
- A Woman of Worth
- A Woman of Wisdom
- A Woman of Purpose
- A Woman Who Surpasses Them All
Regardless of the confusion this
passage has generated, one truth remains: By no accident did this
passage get included in God's Holy Word.
We invite you to join us in a six-week
study of the Proverbs 31 woman. Together we can unravel the mysteries,
and we may discover the pursuit is worth the effort.

Making Love Last
Forever
This pilot class is designed for
interaction with other married couples in a small group setting. We meet
to watch a 15 minute video then discuss the topic. A workbook included
has light reading and should take about 10 to 15 minutes per day to do
during the week.
Gary Smaller, the author, demonstrates
how to help you stay in love with your mate. He claims:
"You con love your wife but
also fall in love with life. What does loving life have to do with
loving your spouse? For your love to last forever, you must be in love
with life. Think in terms of the oxygen-mask instructions given by
airplane attendants: If you don't make the choice to reach for oxygen
yourself there's no point in your trying to help someone else. That's
how it is with love. Learn to love life as God loves you, and then you
have the resources to give and receive love."
"Making Love Last Forever
is a class to help you discover forever-love and develop skills to share
that kind of love with your spouse."
The video and book cover subjects of:
- Love's Best-Kept Secret
- Balancing Expectations
- Responsibility
- Anger
- The Power to Keep Loving
- Communication
- Understanding Your Mate
- Conflict
- Intimacy
- Avoiding Hurt
- Signs of a Healthy Marriage
- Divorce-Proofing
We invite you and your spouse to
participate in this class with us in growing toward "Making
Love Last Forever."
